Only six people have sailed around the world without modern technology, a non Spanish sailor have done so or have won a solo circumnavigation regatta. Being the longest and with NO assistance competition the Aleix Sellés participation in the Golden Globe Race it’s a unique project.

In a world focused in performance and updates, the life cycle of the items designed/built are overlooked having a several negative impact on the environment in the mid-long term. We are being responsible of our actions and driving our decisions by durability, simplicity and environmental consequences, minimizing our foot print from the refit and during all the preparation to the finish line.

to give an old boat a second life

Generally the worst consequence of a high performance sailing project is the life span of the boat.

This projects promotes buying an old boat and preparing her for the race. Giving a  new life to the boat, not just for this race but for future Golden Globe Races or extensive blue water cruising.

To sail around the world using the power of the elements

None other race takes the skipper and the team to experiment the power of the elements in a similar way. Belonging to the sea and the wind, and having an especial connection is essential to sail around the world without electronics nor assistance.
